A Day in the Life

The role of the Senior Manager, Pricing & Contracting, is centered around leading Strategic Pricing and Tenders & Contract teams for Australia region. We partner with all Operating Units and with Enterprise Accounts team across various aspects of the business, ranging from determining the strategy for new product launches, through managing tenders and contract lifecycles, down to more tactical and operational aspects of getting the daily work done. The role is highly visible to senior leaders in Australia through partnership on price uplift initiatives and leadership/contribution to cross-functional programs, aiming at enhancing customer experience, driving technology upgrades and improving our processes.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead and develop the team of employees
  2. Manage direct reports – a Manager of Tenders & Contracts and Strategic Pricing Analysts
  3. Plan & help to prioritize work for team members
  4. Represent Global Pricing & Contracting function with local business leaders in Australia
  5. Translate global goals, objectives and priorities into local implementation plans
  6. Identify price uplift opportunities and partner with business stakeholders on execution
  7. Provide input to price decisions for key tenders & contracts
  8. Implementation and monitoring of local pricing, contracting and tender governance & policies
  9. Partner with broader Pricing & Contracting organization (e.g. shifting operational tasks to COEs, adoption of analytics, support to IBP/forecasting process, system/technology upgrades etc.)
  10. Lead local periodic business reviews & manage escalations from local stakeholders
  11. Learn & share best practices with other regional teams
  12. Lead or participate in cross-functional process improvement programs

Requirements

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree required

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's / college degree is required; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 3+ years of managerial experience
  • Strong commercial acumen; preferred industry experience in med-tech or pharma
  • Ability to manage complexity & effectively prioritize
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with customers and employees across different levels of the organization
  • Analytical skills; advanced Excel; comfortable using PowerBI/Tableau
  • Experience with pricing software; Vendavo/SAP preferred

Job Requirements

The role requires a strong commercial acumen and experience in med-tech or pharma industry. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience with 3+ years of managerial experience. Strong analytical skills, ability to manage complexity and effectively prioritize, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also required. Experience with pricing software; Vendavo/SAP preferred.
