Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Inspection Specialist

Are you a skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic looking to transition into an inspection role within the Defence Maintenance Contract team at Ventia? This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your expertise in ensuring vehicles meet regulatory standards and are safe for operation.
About the Role:This full-time, permanent position will see you conduct meticulous inspections of Defence vehicles, using your mechanical knowledge to identify any potential issues. You will work closely with our team to develop and maintain detailed inspection checklists and investigate non-conforming work.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain detailed inspection checklists to ensure vehicles meet regulatory standards
- Conduct regular quality inspections of other employees' work against set standards and specifications
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, preventative servicing, fault diagnostics, and repairs on light, medium, and heavy military vehicles
- Certificate III in Heavy Road Transport Mechanical Technology or equivalent is essential
- Demonstrated experience working unsupervised on Heavy commercial vehicles is required
- Australian HR Driver's Licence is mandatory
- Secure, permanent full-time role at RAAF Edinburgh
- Excellent work/life balance with hours from 6:45am-3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00am-12:00pm on Fridays
- Specialist upskilling available through industry and ADF training options

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
