Job Title: Avionics Supervisor

The Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team is seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance Professional to support a world-class rotary-wing platform as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Avionics.

This role is based at RAAF Base Townsville in tropical North Queensland and supports the Apache Program.

You will play a vital role in the maintenance of the Boeing AH-64 Apache avionics and electrical systems and associated equipment.

Technical training on the aircraft may require travel overseas or domestically for periods of time to achieve Military Aircraft Type Rating for their MAML.

About the Role
  • The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) is responsible for maintaining, modifying, servicing, inspecting, testing, and troubleshooting aircraft systems, associated components, and equipment within the scope of their applicable trade, qualifications, training, competency, and Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) authorisation(s).
  • The AME shall also supervise other AMEs and provide mentorship to subordinate technicians in the development of their pathway to success.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics)
  • Sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework
  • DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) - Category B2
  • Previous experience as a maintenance certifier/trade supervisor
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to successfully interact with co-workers
  • Good knowledge of Environmental, Health, and Safety procedures
  • Working knowledge of computer-based maintenance management systems
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance of NV1
