Teachers at our institution develop into excellent practitioners through a pipeline of leaders. We have an exceptionally strong induction program for staff joining us, serving both experienced and beginning practitioners.

Our whole-school approach to curriculum allows teams and individual teachers to focus on 'how' to teach, rather than 'what' to teach. Strong practitioners invest in writing strong curriculum, which enables us to spend less time working out 'what' to teach and more time on effective teaching methods.

Our instructional model LEARN is based on the Marzano/Pollock GANAG model, used with fidelity in our classrooms. Students begin the day connecting with themselves and each other in a 6-minute morning circle as part of our Social Emotional Learning program.

We offer opportunities for staff passionate about being highly impactful teachers who lead learning. Currently, we are deepening our work with a focus on writing and social emotional learning assessment.

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of relevant curriculum areas.
• Ability to lead and manage implementation of school priorities, teaching literacy and numeracy skills across curriculum.
• Ability to lead planning and implementation of high impact teaching strategies responding to student learning needs.
• Ability to support teachers evaluating impact of learning and teaching programs on student learning growth.
• Exemplary ability to monitor and assess student learning at class, cohort, or whole-school level, using data to inform improvement initiatives.
• Ability to support others using data to inform teaching practice, providing feedback on student learning growth and achievement to students and parents.
• Exemplary interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Ability to lead collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and broader school community focused on student learning, agency, wellbeing, and engagement.
• Ability to model behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, supporting colleagues to adopt these behaviours and attitudes.
• Ability to reflect upon own, others', and whole-school practice, contributing to provision of whole-school professional learning.
• Experience in creating inclusive education environments.
• Ability to lead and implement inclusive education practices supporting students with disabilities and additional needs accessing and participating in school curriculum and community.
