Health Information Management Professional

  • Deliver accurate and efficient coding for patient discharges.
  • Contribute to medical record management and related activities.

As a health information management professional, responsibilities include:

  • Assigning ICD-10-AM codes for patient discharges.
  • Providing customer service to the department.
  • Ensuring compliance with National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards.
  • Engaging in case mix analysis, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contributing to clinical documentation improvement efforts.
  • Supporting timely extraction and submission of mandatory data reports.
  • Maintaining high-quality data integrity.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Information Management (or equivalent qualification).
  • Eligible for membership with the Health Information Management Association.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and other software.
  • Understanding and adhering to privacy regulations.
  • Knowledge of private sector funding models.
  • Knowledge of WebPAS patient information system.
