An Emergency Preparedness Peer Leader plays a vital role in helping people with disabilities prepare for disaster situations, promoting their safety and well-being during such events.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will be responsible for supporting individuals with disabilities in preparing for emergency situations, including developing strategies for evacuation and finding safe shelter during disasters.
The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as the successful candidate will work closely with individuals with disabilities and other stakeholders to promote disaster preparedness and response.
The selected individual will also have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in disability support and emergency management.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting individuals with disabilities in developing emergency plans and strategies
- Providing information and resources to help individuals with disabilities prepare for emergency situations
- Working with community organizations and service providers to promote disaster preparedness and response
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including individuals with disabilities and their families
As an Emergency Preparedness Peer Leader, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities and contribute to the resilience of our community.
