Theatre Nurse/Operating Theatre Manager
Lead a high-performing theatre nursing service within a dynamic operating theatre and recovery environment.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the delivery of exceptional nursing services in the operating theatre and recovery areas.
- Oversee theatre operations, including staff allocation, rotation, direction, and day-to-day management.
- Drive the Infection Control program to ensure adherence to current best practices.
- Support surgeons by scrubbing and managing operating lists effectively.
- Maintain medical supplies and stock levels to meet operational needs.
- Serve as a liaison between surgical teams and nursing staff to facilitate communication and collaboration.
- Develop and implement training programs for new nursing staff members.
- Maintain facility accreditation and engage staff in the accreditation process to ensure continuous improvement.
- Current full registration with AHPRA is essential.
- Proven experience in theatre nursing and management is required.
- Experience working in the private hospital sector is highly valued.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills are essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with medical specialists is critical.
- Knowledge and understanding of accreditation and quality policies and procedures are required.
