We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Perth.

The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Psychiatry, teaching, research, quality improvement, and administrative activities within their service area.

  • Provide high-quality clinical management and treatment to patients of the service.
  • Uphold and elevate professional standards while fostering an academic environment that supports education, research, and professional development.
  • Actively contribute to teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Fellowship or pending fellowship with the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent is highly desirable.

The position involves working in various settings, including Inpatient Unit (Ward 5A), Perth Children's Hospital; Gender Diversity Service; Community CAMHS; and CAMHS Crisis Connect. You will have the opportunity to work with a full multidisciplinary team and junior doctors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Deliver diagnostic and consultative specialty services in Psychiatry.
  2. Teach and educate junior medical staff and students.
  3. Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives.

  • CAMHS Crisis Connect provides phone and online videocall support for children and young people experiencing mental health crises.
  • Inpatient Unit (Ward 5A) offers inpatient mental health care for young people up to 16 years old.
  • Gender Diversity Service assesses and cares for children and adolescents experiencing gender diversity issues.
  • Community CAMHS sees infants, children, and adolescents with various mental illnesses.
