About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our team in Australia.

Salary: AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Role:

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee and drive the software build and release management process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless and secure deployments.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Maintaining standards and practices for Branch Management, Product Versioning, Source Control Management, and Release Management
  • Developing and implementing release strategies that align with best practices
  • Creating Software builds and associated documentation
  • Leveraging CI/CD tools to automate creation, testing, and deployment of software releases
  • Utilizing tools such as JIRA and GitLab to manage software files and track software changes through the Software Release process
  • Maintaining accurate documentation for environment configurations, processes, and procedures
  • Monitoring and maintaining the health of supporting DevOps infrastructure like container orchestration, build agents, monitoring tools, and dashboards and implementing improvements to enhance reliability and scalability

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have sound experience with and knowledge of build and release management in a complex engineering environment. You will also:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience with Version Control and Repository Management tools such as GitLab and Nexus and experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively within a team and across teams
  • Have a deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and promote best practices
  • Thrive in a fast-paced Agile Software Development working environment
