EOI Trainee Estimator

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Estimator. As a Trainee Estimator, you will assist in preparing estimates and quotes for our Director's final approval, and work closely with our team to ensure the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing estimates and quotes for Director's final approval
  • Prepare tender submissions, including contracts, documentation, and qualitative criteria
  • Arrange requests for quotations and let tenders for contracts
  • Attend tender site inspections as required
  • Manage the Approved Subcontractor List
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers during the tender process
  • Ensure all project information is captured in our company database for tender use
  • Perform all-rounder administration responsibilities
  • Assist site administration and HSEQ administration as required
  • General reception duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, maintaining records, filing, and archiving
Requirements:
  • Working towards a Traineeship or formal qualification in Building and Construction (e.g., Cert 4 Estimating, Diploma Building and Construction)
  • High-level interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • High-level computer skills, including Microsoft Suite
  • High-level literacy and numeracy
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage time to achieve a desired outcome
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and professionalism
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Good people skills
  • Excellent telephone manner and positive outlook
  • High degree of self-organisation
  • Own transport
  • Work independently
  • Reliable and mature

We are a medium-sized Perth-Metro based commercial builder specializing in new builds, refurbishments, fit-out, associated civil works, and rail. This position is Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm, with a competitive salary and discretionary bonus offered.
