About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Global Treasury Leader to join our team at StudentUniverse. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading our treasury operations and ensuring the smooth execution of our financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management
    • Lead and develop a high-performing team of treasury professionals to achieve exceptional results.
    • Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to measure team performance.
    • Provide regular performance reviews, constructive feedback, and development opportunities to team members.
  • Transaction Management
    • Oversee the end-to-end transactional banking, supplier payments, employee expense reimbursement, purchasing card, and virtual credit card functions.
    • Coordinate activities between teams to ensure seamless transaction processing.
    • Manage the maintenance of user and vendor master data, including setup and changes, to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
    • Ensure accurate, efficient, and timely processing of transactions, minimizing errors and discrepancies.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure effective management of internal and external queries relating to banking, payments, purchasing cards, and virtual credit cards.
    • Manage and resolve banking, payment, and credit card exceptions escalations.
    • Communicate effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and team members to gather necessary information, clarify discrepancies, and provide updates on exception resolution.
  • Control and Compliance Focus
    • Understand best practice control environment and actively recommend control improvement opportunities.
    • Maintain a strict control environment with appropriate segregation of duties.
    • Perform periodic audits of accounts payable transactions to identify and resolve errors, discrepancies, and potential fraud.
    • Ensure process and procedures minimize risk of loss to StudentUniverse and identify areas of risk to be mitigated.
    • Ensure compliance with Global Treasury Policy.
  • Innovation and Process Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy of operations.
    • Actively challenge accepted operational wisdom across StudentUniverse businesses.
  • Team Support and Development
    • Provide support to other treasury teams as required.
    • Support and foster a team environment and culture.
    • Exceed behavioral expectations of the team.
    • Accountability and ownership of own performance and meeting team expectations.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable and/or Banking in a senior role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Knowledge of Flight Centre Systems.
  • Travel industry knowledge.
  • A finance or business degree (or studying towards).
