Our organization seeks an accomplished Security Operations Specialist to join our team. This vital role involves enhancing the security operations of our clients by designing, implementing, and refining their SOC capabilities.
The ideal candidate will leverage industry-leading SIEM solutions such as Splunk, Sentinel, Cortex, or other advanced security monitoring tools to empower threat detection, improve incident response workflows, and ensure that SOC teams are properly trained and supported.
This individual will guide clients in meeting compliance and regulatory requirements on security detection and response capabilities. The specialist must possess deep expertise in Australian industry-specific requirements for government agencies, financial institutions, and critical infrastructure sectors.
Collaboration is a key aspect of this role, as the specialist will work closely with clients to understand their unique security needs and assess their current security posture. They will provide expert guidance and recommendations on best security practices, risk management strategies, and robust security policies to fortify defenses.
Not only will the specialist provide advice, but they will also get hands-on and design and implement security controls, policies, and procedures. They will work alongside cross-functional teams to deploy state-of-the-art technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, access controls, and encryption technologies, ensuring a comprehensive security framework.
Identifying vulnerabilities and risks motivates this individual. With extensive knowledge, they will conduct thorough security assessments, leaving no stone unturned in identifying potential security breaches. Their findings will serve as the foundation for meticulous security audits and reviews, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Their reports and findings will be the catalyst for management decisions and actions.
Continuous immersion in the latest security threats, technologies, and best practices is crucial in this field. Recommendations will drive enhancements to the organization's security posture, ensuring it remains at the cutting edge of defense.
Expertise is not limited to systems alone; this specialist will lend their knowledge to the design and review of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, ensuring they are secure by design from inception.
This role demands strong skills in SIEM tools, knowledge of Australian cybersecurity regulations, experience in designing and implementing SOC processes, familiarity with Australian Data Breach Notification scheme, and understanding of advanced threat detection techniques. The specialist should have a proven track record of working in the Australian market with specific knowledge of ACSC guidelines and Australian regulatory requirements.
We seek a self-starter with a passion for high-impact assignments that align technology to business outcomes. The ideal candidate has a growth mindset, is customer-focused, and open and borderless in how they work with others.
