Job Title: Groundsperson - Royal Randwick

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic groundsperson to join our team at Royal Randwick.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the course proper, training tracks, and grounds at Royal Randwick Racecourse. This is a permanent full-time role that plays a vital part in ensuring the success of our carnival race days and creating a memorable experience for all who attend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the course proper, training tracks, and grounds to the highest standard.
  • Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front end loader forklift, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers and general spray operations.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial and other surfaces.
  • Work non-race days from 8:30 – 5:00pm and rotate on race days between Tuesday to Saturday.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, preferably in turf management.
  • General operational and mechanical maintenance skills.
  • Appropriate licences to operate specialist machinery such as a manual vehicle, front end loader and forklifts.
  • Experience in operating plant and equipment including Bobcat, Grader and Excavator would be desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Enjoy working outdoors.
