Domestic Violence Case Manager

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Domestic Violence Case Worker to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing trauma-informed case management services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children affected by domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide outreach case management services, including safety planning, assistance with applying for DVO/AVO, court support, and housing rights guidance.
- Advocate and navigate systems, ensuring culturally appropriate care in a safe environment.
- Collaborate with the CEO to deliver support in locations where women feel safe.
- Assist in early intervention, addressing intergenerational violence, and fostering safety for children through safety planning.
- Work with other agencies, including Aboriginal Community Controlled organizations, to support clients.
- Demonstrated competence in cultural awareness and understanding of how to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
- Knowledge of feminist theory and its application to domestic violence and homelessness support.
- Experience in successful case management, particularly in domestic/family violence or homelessness services.
- Understanding of the effects of trauma, including inter-generational trauma, and how it interacts with child protection systems.
- Proven ability to perform risk assessments and work independently in crisis environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in basic computer skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of community groups and organizations.
- Current Driver's License and Working with Vulnerable People Registration (ACT).
