Senior Cyber Security Specialist

FinXL is partnering with a leading telecommunications client to engage a Senior Cyber Security Specialist for a 6-month assignment based in Macquarie Park, NSW. The work arrangement is a hybrid model, requiring 3 days onsite at the Macquarie Park office.

This is a senior-level assignment for a highly skilled Cyber Security Specialist. The consultant will be a key member of the client's cybersecurity team, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing advanced security solutions to protect critical infrastructure and data assets. This engagement requires deep expertise in network detection and response, enterprise networking, and cybersecurity protocols.

  • Design, deploy, configure, and manage advanced security solutions to protect critical infrastructure and data assets.
  • Administer and optimize network access control and policy enforcement systems.
  • Develop and maintain secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation strategies.
  • Conduct threat analysis, incident response, and forensic investigations.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security staff.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Proven expertise with Fortinet Network Detection and Response and Cisco Identity Services Engine in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing/switching, and telecom infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection.
  • Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE, Cisco CCNP Security, CISSP, or CEH are highly desirable.
