About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced English Teacher to join our team at Toowoomba Grammar School. As a Senior School Educator, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to students in Years 7-12 and contributing to the development of our English curriculum.

Key Responsibilities


  • Design and deliver innovative teaching programs aligned with Queensland and Australian curriculums
  • Demonstrate expertise in the subject matter, including proficiency in designing and delivering lessons that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Motivate and engage students in their learning journey, with a focus on fostering a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment
  • Utilize technology effectively to enhance student learning outcomes and promote digital literacy
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of curriculum materials, adapting to educational trends and integrating innovative teaching methods
  • Participate in mentoring and pastoral care initiatives, providing support and guidance to students
  • Engage actively in the school's co-curricular activities and contribute positively to the broader school community
  • Pursue ongoing professional development, staying updated with educational advancements and refining teaching practices
  • Align with the school's educational philosophy, including the concept of an education designed for boys


Requirements


  • Registration as a teacher in Queensland or eligibility for registration
  • Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of effective pedagogical practices and the ability to tailor teaching methods to diverse learning styles and student needs
  • Proven specialist knowledge in the subject discipline, encompassing a comprehensive understanding of its concepts, theories, and practical applications
  • Experience in teaching English up to Year 12, with a focus on motivating and enthusing students in their learning journey
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology as an integral part of the teaching process to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Ability to create a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment that fosters active participation, critical thinking, and a passion for learning
  • Willingness to participate in the co-curricular programme of the school and contribute positively to the broader school community
