About the Role

This position focuses on underwriting commercial lines for educational institutions, including General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Property, and Commercial Auto.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and evaluate new submissions and renewal accounts to determine acceptability of the risk within parameters outlined in the Underwriting Authority document.
  • Review, interpret, and process data from applications and loss history.
  • Articulate risk management principles, including exposure/hazard identification and control; demonstrate familiarity with competitive pricing and products.
  • Cultivate strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders through proactive communication and demonstrated ownership.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Lines Middle Market Underwriting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of General Liability, Workers' Compensation, Property, and Commercial Auto.
  • Proven track record of underwriting and portfolio management in the middle market.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
