Arboriculture Instructor

The Arboriculture Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality education and training to students in Arboriculture courses. This includes teaching theory, practical, and field-based classes in subjects such as OH&S, ropes and knots, rigging, pest and diseases, nutrition and plant culture, machinery operations, chainsaw operations and safety, tree climbing, and more.

• Teach approved recurrent and industry programs, including Certificate III and Diploma of Arboriculture skills programs.
• Assist in the development and delivery of Arboriculture programs.
• Meet, assess, and enroll intending students.
• Provide interim and annual reports of student results.
• Identify resource requirements.
• Continually maintain class attendance rolls in compliance with Institute quality guidelines.
• Respond to enquiries about courses and training.
• Selection, safe use, and maintenance of appropriate equipment.

• A degree, diploma, or certificate relevant to the Arboriculture field, with industry-level experience.
• A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• A thorough knowledge of current industry practices and procedures, with a demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Arboriculture Industry.
• A current Working with Children Check (Employee) and workplace certificate in High Risk Work.
• Ability to teach and facilitate the delivery of specialist Arboriculture subjects and related courses to groups with diverse abilities, backgrounds, and readiness.
• Excellent machinery operational skills essential.
