Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement mine plans to optimize ore extraction and minimize costs
- Collaborate with geology and surveying teams to establish mine technical services systems and processes
- Conduct pit optimization using software and develop 3-month and 18-month mine plans
- Review and optimize 'Life of Mine' designs and construct detailed execution schedules
- Ensure planning inputs are reviewed for accuracy and that mine infrastructure requirements are adequately accounted for
- Develop mine designs and schedules to support medium- and long-term plans
- Assist with budget production and schedule development for Open Pit Operations
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to Open Pit Mining Engineers
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline
- 2+ years' experience in an Open Pit Mine Planning role
- Technical expertise in Open Pit mine design, drill and blast, optimization, and planning
- Expert user of Microsoft Office - Excel and proficient with computer scheduling software
- Sound knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to mining
