Job Title: Stone Fabrication Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and motivated stone fabrication specialist to join our team. As an expert in the field of natural and engineered stone products, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC water jet cutting machines, reading and interpreting CAD files, fabricating stone benchtops, conducting on-site installations, performing site measurements, operating forklifts, and maintaining workshop cleanliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain CNC water jet cutting machines with precision and accuracy
  • Read and interpret CAD files, technical drawings, and job sheets to ensure accurate fabrication
  • Fabricate stone benchtops: cutting, polishing, profiling, and gluing
  • Conduct on-site installations of kitchen and bathroom benchtops ensuring high quality results
  • Perform accurate site measurements for custom orders
  • Operate forklifts for slab handling (must be licensed)
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and follow WHS safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with team members, apprentices, and clients
  • Assist in training junior staff and contribute to workflow improvements

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Stonemasonry or equivalent experience
  • Experience operating CNC water jet cutting machines preferred
  • Valid forklift licence required
  • Ability to read CAD/CAM drawings and fabrication specs
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting stone materials
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Valid White Card (Construction Induction)

Desirable:

  • Experience supervising or mentoring other team members
  • On-site installation experience in residential and commercial projects
  • Background in customer service or client-facing roles
