Event Support Specialist

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic team delivering CPD, Networking, STEM and Community outreach activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support events in the auditorium, managing catering, audio-visual setups, and event logistics.
  • Ensure the auditorium is tidy, open, and closed appropriately for events.
  • Operate and maintain AV equipment during events.
  • Assist with event setup, welcoming attendees, and housekeeping.
  • Record attendance for CPD and WHS compliance.
  • Prepare event catering and maintain a hygienic kitchen.
  • Manage auditorium inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
  • Assist with guest registration and liaison at offsite events.
  • Participate in Career Fairs and STEM events as a representative.
  • Respond efficiently to inquiries from event attendees, directing complex issues to relevant support teams.
  • Support Fellow Eng Exec/Recognition event with certificate management.
  • Administrative duties as required including updating records, completing event briefs, post event reporting, invoicing.

Requirements
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Bright, positive, and customer-oriented with excellent communication skills and good written skills.
  • Comfortable working with and understanding audio-visual equipment, staying calm under pressure.
  • Professional, diligent, and willing to use initiative, be reliable and respectful of colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft 365 and an aptitude to learn new programs.
