Health and Safety Specialist

Pact Packaging is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide oversight of health, safety, and environmental incidents, and support sites with incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action close-out.
- Support activities with external regulatory bodies, such as WorkSafe and EPA, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of the Group WHSE System.
- Plan and implement environmental, health, and safety programs, including risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Identify and control common environmental, health, and safety hazards inherent at the site, and establish guidelines for hazard control.
- Promote and champion a zero-harm culture, providing expert advice and support to drive implementation of the Group WHSE System.
- Establish risk management and risk mitigation programs, and monitor, interpret, and champion changes to the regulatory environment.
- Support the development and coordination of strategies, and train and educate leaders on the PACT safety management systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation, Codes of Practice, Standards, and associated obligations in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in hazard identification, risk management, and incident investigation.
- Some experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and auditing Safety or Environmental Management Systems.
- High level of computer literacy and developed administrative skills.
- Commitment to sustainability and operational experience working in manufacturing.
- High level of initiative and ability to work effectively and remotely from the team.
