About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Support Mentor to join our team at Hunter Recruitment Group. As a Youth Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 15-24 in their journey to education and employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vocational guidance to participants, helping them identify and achieve their career goals.
  • Develop and implement Job Plans to support participants in achieving their employment objectives.
  • Maintain participant engagement and connect them to specialist support services, ensuring they receive the necessary support to succeed.
  • Utilize government incentives to facilitate capacity building through education and training, enabling participants to acquire new skills and enhance their employability.
  • Deliver one-on-one and group training programs, equipping participants with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the workforce.
  • Ensure effective reporting and communication, providing regular updates on participant progress and outcomes.
  • Work towards sustainable employment outcomes for participants, helping them to secure long-term employment and achieve their career aspirations.
Requirements
  • Thrives on meaningful conversations with young people, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their career goals.
  • Has a knack for writing standout resumes and creating employment pathways for youth with little or no experience.
  • Is dedicated, creative, and passionate about helping young people succeed, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality support services.
  • Communicates effectively, with strong interpersonal and empathetic listening skills.
  • Keeps a pulse on the local labour market, able to connect participants with the right opportunities and provide guidance on career development.
  • Is confident delivering employability skills workshops/programs in both one-on-one and group settings, in collaboration with local employers.
  • Can juggle a diverse caseload and handle multiple priorities, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Is tech-savvy, with strong administrative and computer skills, including proficiency in software applications and online platforms.
  • Holds a current driver's license and can obtain necessary clearances (Working with Children, Criminal History, NDIS Worker Screening).
