Job Overview:

The College Counsellor is a key member of the Student Support Team, responsible for providing individual counselling and wellbeing support initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering clinical assessments and effective counselling services
  • Developing and implementing wellbeing strategies to promote student support
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for students, families, and staff

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work (preferably)
  • Provisional or full registration as a psychologist with relevant governing bodies OR
  • Maintenance of registration and/or membership with at least one professional association (e.g., ACA, APACS, PACFA)
  • ACA Level 01 membership (completion of an ACA-accredited Diploma of Counselling or equivalent qualification)
  • Previous experience in school counselling or a related field
  • Knowledge of child safety protocols within an educational setting
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative working with diverse stakeholders
  • First Aid certification

Personal Requirements:

Staff members are expected to embody Christian values, be active in their local church community, and adhere to the College's Codes of Conduct and child safe policies.

Working Arrangements:

This role works on a full-time basis (38 hours) during term time (40 weeks) with 4 weeks paid annual leave taken outside of term time.
