Job Title: School Nurse

We are seeking a qualified and experienced School Nurse to join our professional team at Our Lady of Grace School. The successful candidate will provide primary health care services to students, staff, and visitors, promoting health and well-being in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide health care services to students, staff, and visitors, including assessments, triage, and treatment of injuries and illnesses.
  • Liaise with parents, guardians, teachers, and community members to ensure the health needs of students are met.
  • Administer medications as per parental consent and school policy.
  • Maintain Emergency Action Plans and medications, ensuring they are available for excursions and off-site activities.
  • Document and report major incidents and injuries.
  • Manage the Nurse's room, including ordering, maintaining, and checking expiry dates of medications, supplies, and First Aid kits.
  • Support children with medical needs and provide health education and promotion for students, parents, and staff.
  • Collect and collate statistics related to sick bay attendance, illness, and injury.
  • Advise and provide information for parents and staff on health issues, including communicable disease control and school health policies.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nursing Qualification.
  • Working with Children Card.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain this from the Department of Education).
  • Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain this).
  • Senior First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain this).
