Electrical Systems Assembler

As an Electronics Manufacturing Technician, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing team in Sydney, Australia, working on the development of advanced defense hardware for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs).
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the engineering team to assemble electrical systems for AUV integration
- Fabricate wire harnesses, soldier electronic modules, and modify COTS components
- Build, test, and integrate electrical and mechanical assemblies into sub-assemblies and AUVs
- Perform configuration tasks to flash/load correct SW/FW versions onto devices
- Design, prototype, and scale manufacturing jigs and fixtures to improve build and test efficiency
- Follow detailed electrical and manufacturing documentation to build to engineering specifications
- Contribute to the development, documentation, and improvement of the electrical system production process
- 5S work areas, perform part inspections, process work orders, and follow safety best practices
- Support management of tools, equipment, and materials (maintenance, calibrations, raw material stock)
- Interact with digital ERP system for work order tracking, inventory management, and quality reporting
- Strong background in electronics, with experience in relevant fields (Robotics, Defense, Avionics)
- Ability to carry out detailed electro-mechanical assembly work with tight-tolerance components/enclosures and complex wire routings
- Familiarity with electrical engineering principles and concepts
- Full understanding of the manufacturing life cycle
- Experience working off of technical documentation, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings
- Commitment to a high-quality product and strong sense of personal accountability
- Ability to perform electrical debug, including use of tools such as a digital multimeter, oscilloscope, etc.
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Eligibility to obtain a NV1 security clearance (status not required at time of hire)
- Experience in mechatronics and robotics (AUVs, UUVs, underwater equipment)
- Experience working with electrical systems up to 400VDC
- Subsea cable fabrication experience
- Experience with pressure vessels and/or pressure systems/equipment
- Prior experience working with JIRA, Teamcenter (PLM), or NetSuite (ERP) or equivalents
- Experience with low volume / high mix manufacturing
