Job Summary:

The ideal candidate for this role is a self-motivated and driven individual with a strong passion for finance. They will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities include providing support to the finance team, gaining experience through exposure to different finance functions, and taking on responsibilities within Credit Control, Stock Management Process, Weekly Reports, and Management Accounts. The chosen candidate will also provide administrative support, study for the CIMA professional qualification, and participate in leadership development courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Play a key part in the Credit Control function
  • Take charge of the stock take process, ensuring accuracy and improving efficiency
  • Support the Health and Safety Officer and Buyer with PPE Vending Machine usage
  • Prepare key weekly reports for Senior Managers
  • Support with month end processes via completion of reports
  • Work on financial and system controls projects
  • Gain an understanding of Purchase Ledger, T&A system, and Buyers' responsibilities
  • Assist with Year End Accounts and external audit

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Computer literate, including proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with key accounting concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Desire to learn and improve current processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree at a 2:1 or above
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Work experience in an office environment would be advantageous
