Product Development Engineer

About the RoleWe're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Development Engineer to work on key multi-year projects with our OE customers. As a member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for fostering collaboration among team members and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project goals and drive overall success.
Your primary focus will be on CAD design development for key multi-year OE partner programs, working with CATIA and Solidworks to generate complex 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings. You'll also be responsible for parametric modelling for new vehicle components, design involving extruded aluminium, resin moulding, and pressed and fabricated sheet metal structures to a high OE standard.
Key Responsibilities- Foster collaboration among team members and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project goals and drive overall success.
- Develop CAD designs for key multi-year OE partner programs.
- Work with CATIA and Solidworks to generate complex 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings.
- Create parametric models for new vehicle components.
- Design involving extruded aluminium, resin moulding, and pressed and fabricated sheet metal structures to a high OE standard.
- Translate surface data to functional products meeting OE level Design Validation.
- Optimise designs through Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Confidently manage the end-to-end process from design to test rig setup and testing.
- Interact regularly with customers and manage timelines to meet customer schedules.
- You hold an Engineering Degree and have worked in or with an OE automotive business.
- You possess strong proficiency in parametric 3D CAD modelling.
- You are confident in your use of CATIA and have experience with Solidworks.
- You have a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
- You have skills in structural and resin parts/systems, including knowledge of material properties.
- You bring proven analytical skills with a focus on innovation.
- You are a self-starter, confident in customer interaction, and organised to meet customer timing plans.
- You possess drive, enthusiasm, and a focus on continuous improvement to achieve outstanding results.
