CSSD Instrument Technician

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CSSD Instrument Technician to join our dynamic perioperative team at John Fawkner Private Hospital, part of the Healthscope network.

• Ensure adherence to sterilizing practice standards and infection control protocols at all times.
• Perform duties in all work areas of the department, including decontamination, packing, sterilization, and loan instruments.
• Test and maintain machinery, including washers, sterilizers, and other equipment.
• Plan, manage resources, and prioritize equipment to ensure efficient operations.
• Communicate effectively with the CSSD Manager and Peri-Operative Services Manager regarding any deviations from normal procedures.
• Perform other duties as specified by the CSSD Manager or Peri-Operative Services Manager.

• At least 1 year of experience as a CSSD Technician.
• Certificate III in Sterilizing Services or working towards this certification.
• Commitment to maintaining currency in practical skills and knowledge.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Able to prioritize, plan, and take the initiative to respond to changes.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills.
