About the Role

The Asset Manager - Estimating plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of all project maintenance operations, aligning with Thiess' business objectives and strategic direction. Reporting directly to the Head of Assets, this position will be based in our Welshpool and West Perth offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plant rates and maintenance cost estimates for tenders as required.
  • Carry out periodic and as required adjustment of plant rates on existing projects for break-even result.
  • Analyse project costs for monthly result reviews and tender benchmarking.
  • Complete asset life reviews considering operating costs, major component cycles, ownership costs and overhaul requirements.
  • Provide input into asset selection for new work based on idle or new fleet availability, considering productivity, reliability, and cost.
  • Specify workshop infrastructure design including tooling and support equipment for effective maintenance of mobile fleet on existing and new projects.
  • Support Operations and Asset team in asset management administration process (asset setup, movements, capitalisation, strategies, budgets).
  • Provide support to the Asset Specialists and Graduates.
  • Strive for cost efficiencies where possible while not compromising safety.

About You

To be successful for this role, you will have;

  • Trade Qualified or Tertiary Qualifications.
  • Have highly demonstrated experience in mining equipment management.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficient use of CATS, Entire, OCDC, JDE, Microsoft Office.
  • 5+yrs experience in relevant leadership, operational and estimating role/s.
  • Promote, encourage and foster the safely culture within Thiess.
