Local Laws Enforcement Officer

This role will contribute to the safety and amenity of the community through the provision of information, assistance and advice to the public, and through the enforcement of relevant legislation. Emphasis will be placed on patrolling off-leash parks and foreshore areas during summer restriction periods.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate complaints and concerns from the community
- Conduct inspections and patrols to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
- Impound animals that are found to be in breach of local laws
- Issue infringements to individuals who fail to comply with local laws
- Prepare briefs of evidence to support enforcement actions
- A Certificate IV level qualification in Statutory Compliance or Animal Welfare, or experience in a similar role is essential
- High level time management skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both internal and external stakeholders in a confident and professional manner
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in relation to local laws and regulations
