Job Role: 3rd Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain engine room machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Assist with bunkering operations, waste oil pumping, and compliance with WHS, environmental, and quality management systems.
  • Train and mentor engineering cadets to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records, including log books and oil records, to support informed decision-making.
  • Perform emergency duties as outlined in the muster list to ensure prompt response to critical situations.
Requirements:
  • Hold a valid AMSA-issued Certificate of Competency as Engineer Watchkeeper (Motor) with additional qualifications, such as Security Awareness Training, Current Passport, AMSA Certificate of Medical Fitness, Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC), Confined Space Entry & Rescue, and Working Safely at Heights.
  • Have relevant seagoing experience in the previous three years to demonstrate capability and adaptability.

This role demands high levels of trust and responsibility. A comprehensive probity assessment, including a Police Check, is essential for selection.
