Retail Store Supervisor

About the Job

This retail store supervisor position oversees daily store operations ensuring efficient customer service. The role involves managing product mix, stock levels and service standards to meet customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day store activities for smooth customer service delivery
  • Determine product assortment, inventory levels and service benchmarks to match customer needs
  • Develop and implement buying strategies and oversee marketing campaigns
  • Promote and advertise store products to boost brand awareness and foot traffic
  • Sell products directly to customers and provide detailed product information
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and financial transactions
  • Prepare and manage store budgets, track costs and enhance profitability
  • Lead recruitment, selection, training and supervision of retail staff
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Liaise with suppliers and maintain strong relationships

Requirements and Skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Retail Management or a related field (desired)
  • At least 1 year experience as a retail supervisor
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilities
  • Strong skills in inventory management, merchandising and customer service
  • Excellent budgeting and financial reporting skills
  • Knowledge of retail sales strategies, product promotion and marketing
  • Familiarity with OHS regulations and store compliance requirements
