Position Overview:

The Australian Occupational Therapy Journal is seeking a seasoned Editor-in-Chief to lead and shape its content, maintain quality, and promote growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the editorial team and implement strategies for high-quality manuscript review and editing.
  • Develop and maintain publishing integrity and ethical standards.
  • Engage Editorial Board members and foster collaboration among team members.
  • Identify strategies to develop the journal and increase quality manuscript submissions.
  • Represent and promote the journal among colleagues and at conferences.

Requirements:

  • Leadership: Provide guidance and direction for the journal's activities.
  • Editorial Policies: Implement editorial policies and ensure compliance with best-practice standards.
  • Communication: Engage effectively with authors, Editorial Board members, and other stakeholders.
  • Journal Development: Identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Promotion: Represent the journal positively and promote its work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in editorial leadership or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of publishing ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
