Metalworking Specialist

We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our workshop and fleet team as an Apprentice Fabricator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in fabrication and welding activities.

The successful candidate will undertake a Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication course at North Wollongong TAFE, gaining practical knowledge in welding, cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components using tools and machinery in a hands-on workshop environment.

This role is open to school leavers, mature-age applicants, and those who have already commenced their Certificate III in Engineering. As an Apprentice Fabricator, you will work alongside experienced fabricators and welders, learning from them and contributing to the team's success.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Fabricating and assembling metal components
• Welding and repairing equipment
• Maintaining workshop equipment and tools

As part of this temporary full-time position up to 4 years, you will receive on-the-job training, compulsory course costs paid by Council, and access to local government and employee benefits. You will work 38 hours per week and enjoy a 9 Day-fortnight roster.
