Swimming Instructor

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Swimming Teacher to join our team at the Gympie Aquatic Recreation Centre. As a Swimming Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching effective swimming and water safety skills to children of all ages and abilities.

The successful candidate will have a passion for swimming and a commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment. You will need to be energetic, dynamic, and fun, with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

This is a casual role that requires working mornings, evenings, and weekends. You must be empathetic to the needs of the classes and able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Teach effective swimming and water safety skills to children of all ages and abilities.
• Provide a safe and supportive learning environment.

• Energetic, innovative, and decisive teaching style.
• Understanding of OHS and public safety applications within the facility.
• Ability to work mornings, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of the team.
• Current First Aid (Level 2) & Current CPR Certificate.
• Working With Children Check (or equivalent) & National Police Check.
• Current AUSTSWIM Certificate – Teaching of Swimming and Water Safety.
• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics (Desirable).
• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics Access and Inclusion (Desirable).
