We're seeking a skilled Artificial Intelligence Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing, building, and deploying lightweight domain-specific AI tools. These tools will include embedded LLM agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, and workflow co-pilots.

This role focuses on solving practical engineering and operations problems using narrowly scoped GenAI and ML solutions that can run on local or hybrid infrastructure in DOE-compliant environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Deploy Lightweight GenAI Agents: Utilize open-source or cloud-hosted models to create efficient and scalable GenAI agents.
  • Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation Pipelines: Leverage tools like LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or custom logic to design effective RAG pipelines.
  • Create and Manage Vector Stores for Knowledge Retrieval: Employ FAISS, Qdrant, or Azure AI Search to build vector stores for efficient knowledge retrieval.
  • Extract, Clean, and Embed SOPs, Logs, and Operational Knowledge: Collaborate with stakeholders to extract, clean, and embed operational knowledge into AI-ready formats.
  • Integrate AI Systems with Internal Tools: Integrate AI systems with SharePoint, Power BI, and custom dashboards to enhance business processes.
  • Contribute to Fine-Tuning, Prompt Engineering, and Orchestration of Model Pipelines: Work on fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and orchestration of model pipelines to improve overall performance.
  • Packaging Models and Pipelines into Secure, Containerized Apps: Package models and pipelines into secure, containerized apps suitable for offline or GovCloud deployment.
  • Document Systems, Workflows, and Compliance Touchpoints: Document systems, workflows, and compliance touchpoints to ensure smooth operations.
