The Speech Therapist role is an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. As a Speech Therapist, you will work closely with clients to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of conditions including autism spectrum disorder, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, stammers, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (adhd), intellectual disabilities, cleft palate, and voice disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and diagnose clients with communication and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve speech, language, and swallowing skills
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
- Clinical supervision and mentoring of junior staff members
- Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and workshops
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology or related field
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Proven experience working with children and adults with communication and swallowing disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
