Research Officer

An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and motivated researcher to join the Putoczki Laboratory at Australia's pre-eminent biomedical research institute, The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.
This position will contribute to the development of patient-derived pancreatic cancer models, to interrogate cell signalling networks, and to work collaboratively across projects within the laboratory. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to establish and contribute to collaborative research projects, and will be encouraged to develop new research directions that complement existing themes within the laboratory.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in cancer models and excellent communication and organisation skills, with the ability to work constructively within a team environment. Experience in bioinformatics would be favourable.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of patient-derived pancreatic cancer models
- Interrogate cell signalling networks
- Work collaboratively across projects within the laboratory
- Establish and contribute to collaborative research projects
- Develop new research directions that complement existing themes within the laboratory
Requirements
- Relevant doctoral qualification or equivalent (cell biology or biochemistry)
- Excellent academic record and achievements
- Demonstrated ability and potential for excellence and productivity in research
- Research experience that has resulted in publications, conference papers or reports
- Proven interpersonal and collaborative skills in achieving research outcomes
Terms of Appointment
This position is available for 2 years in a full time capacity. Salary is Research Employee (RE) A6-8 ($101,039 - $108,453). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
