Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Typist to join our team. As a Medical Typist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional medical typing support to our network of Oncologists/Haematologists.

The overall purpose of this position is to provide accurate and efficient typing services for urgent and routine medical correspondence, including letters and reports. You will liaise with VMOs and secretaries to ensure timely review, correction, approval, and release of medical correspondence to intended recipients.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Accurate typing of medical correspondence, including letters and reports
  • Liaising with VMOs and secretaries to ensure timely review, correction, approval, and release of medical correspondence
  • Sharing responsibility for the management of telephone requests from VMOs and other staff
  • Preparing after-hours and on-call doctors lists
  • Using IT systems and undertaking training in the use of new technology

What We Are Looking For:

  • Competent medical typing skills (minimum 70 wpm & >95% accuracy) with a minimum of 3 years in a medical typing role
  • Previous experience transcribing audio files
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently without close supervision
  • Attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
