Culinary Team Leader for Melbourne's Iconic Sports Venue

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Team Leader to join our team at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), one of Australia's most iconic sports venues.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our culinary team to produce exceptional food quality and presentation, while ensuring high-volume production meets quality standards for both event-day and non-event-day service.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team delivering exceptional culinary experiences across various settings, including Retail and Corporate/Premium Dining departments.

As a Culinary Team Leader, you will oversee daily culinary operations, lead kitchen operations, maintain food safety plans, and contribute to departmental success by managing budgets, controlling food costs, and coordinating with suppliers.

You will also collaborate with leadership teams on menu development, guest feedback, and resolving service-related issues, as well as foster team development, motivate, and mentor staff to uphold standards and deliver exceptional culinary experiences.

To be successful in this role, you will require appropriate culinary qualifications combined with demonstrated experience leading a team within a commercial kitchen environment.

Leadership experience in managing and motivating kitchen teams, including chefs, cooks, and back-of-house staff, in high-volume or premium restaurant environments is essential.

A minimum of 3 years of experience managing food and labor costs, menu development, and costing is required, along with proficiency in using business technology such as stock control systems, spreadsheets, and accounting systems.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a large, dynamic team are also essential.
