Lead Operations Manager Position at Amazon

We are seeking an experienced Lead Operations Manager to join our team in Horsley Park, NSW. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the AU Fulfillment Center leadership team during its phase of expansion and growth.

The ideal candidate will deliver inspiring, inclusive leadership for teams and define process flows and shape standard work routines as operations scale up. They will supervise a team of Area Managers and their direct reports while reporting to the Site Lead of the Fulfillment Center.

This role requires maintaining Health and Safety standards, promoting an inspiring culture, handling timely data collection, updating operations metrics on an hourly basis, achieving productivity targets, reducing cost per unit, eliminating errors, and ensuring a high-quality customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining Health and Safety standards within remit area, promoting an inspiring culture.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert on larger-scale processes and activities.
  • Handling timely data collection, updating operations metrics on an hourly basis.
  • Aiming to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Working closely with other support teams on staffing plans, schedules, and performance levels.
  • Implementing process change and contributing to cross-functional Six Sigma initiatives.

Please note that the shift pattern is based on 4 days on and 3 days off (Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday to Wednesday). We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Horsley Park, NSW.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience leading large, diverse teams.
- Experience in employee and performance management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar innovative logistics, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability establishing and carrying out root cause analysis, and extracting and analyzing generated data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean techniques.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and analytical skills.
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous.

Estimated salary: $80,000 - $120,000 AUD per year.
