About this role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Produce Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Woolworths Group.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect and assess the quality, freshness, and labelling of fruit and vegetable deliveries at the distribution centre.
  • Ensure all produce meets Woolworths quality assurance and labelling standards.
  • Manage the banana ripening process to achieve the optimal colour and quality for customers.
  • Collaborate with the Fruit & Veg Commercial Buying Team to ensure we are delivering the best quality offer for store operations to enhance customer experience.
  • Report to the Senior Quality Control Officer and work alongside the buying teams to deliver safe, quality products in line with Woolworth's specifications and company KPI's.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Retail & Fruit & Veg is preferred.
  • Shift Work & Availability: Must be available to work overnight shifts (midnight - 8:30 am), weekends, and a Tuesday to Saturday roster.
  • Experience working in diverse teams with strong written and verbal communication skills is crucial.
  • Great adaptability & resilience skills; be able to multitask, stay composed under pressure, and embrace change.
  • A passion for retail, people, and creating a positive team environment is essential.
  • Experience in a regulated environment, post-harvest knowledge, and an understanding of supermarket retail processes are highly desirable.
