We are seeking an experienced corporate litigator to join our team as Litigation and Investigations Director and Counsel. The successful candidate will advise on disputes/potential disputes across all business units within the company, including consumer, merchants, B2B, and network.
Main Responsibilities:- Advising on disputes and potential disputes across all business units.
- Managing the conduct of legal proceedings, including managing litigation in-house, selecting and instructing local external counsel, and overseeing related legal costs and budget.
The role requires a deep understanding of the Australian legal system and civil litigation process. You will also be responsible for managing your own portfolio of matters varying from litigation to advisory matters, as well as managing a junior lawyer in the team.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:- A minimum of 7-8 years' post-qualification experience in Australia with a background in Civil law, finance services, and litigation.
- Experience in internal investigations and insolvency is desirable.
- Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
