Enterprise Geospatial Architect

We are seeking a seasoned software professional to lead the development of next-generation mission-critical cloud-based services handling large geospatial data sets.

Ideal candidates will have experience in similar roles within high-tech companies, designing and developing highly scalable geospatial services. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing technical design, development, testing, and code reviews of enterprise-scale geospatial services
  • Participating in team technical activities including story breakdown sessions, sprint planning, effort estimation, code reviews, NFR assessments, and architectural reviews
  • Evaluating, prototyping, and recommending next-generation cloud-native data delivery technologies
  • Assessing, refactoring, and optimizing high-volume repository transaction and distribution channels
  • Identifying and implementing data quality management capabilities, monitoring tools, and associated governance controls/reporting

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • 5+ years of professional experience building enterprise-scale real-time and batch-based data distribution capabilities
  • Extensive experience leveraging modern technologies, frameworks, and cloud tools
  • Expertise using modern development languages
  • Experience working with large geospatial raster and vector datasets
  • Familiarity with cloud-based large SQL databases and expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and partitioning

This role requires a test-driven development mindset, a focus on code quality, scalability, and efficiency. Previous experience building enterprise-caliber, event-driven distributed systems using cloud-based architectural patterns and infrastructure is beneficial. A strong oral and written English skills and a collaborative working style with a primary focus on delivering quality outcomes are essential.
