Facilities Operations Centre

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Data Centre Facilities Operations Engineer. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the physical infrastructure of our data centres, ensuring optimal performance and availability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data centre IT infrastructure and facilities operations. They will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the onsite team, ensuring overall availability and reliability meet or exceed defined service levels.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and contributing to the operational excellence of our data centres.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain data centre physical infrastructure
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external teams
  • Develop and implement communication and escalation protocols to improve team performance
  • Contribute to outage post-mortem analysis
  • Ensure records are updated in a timely manner
  • Support emergency recovery efforts and develop tools to enhance team performance

This role requires a high level of autonomy, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be able to adapt to changing circumstances and prioritize tasks accordingly.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
  • 1+ years of experience working with building and/or electrical platform management systems
  • 2+ years' experience in data centre engineering/operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years' experience working in a large-scale data centre and 3+ years' experience in a NOC (Network Operations Centre) or similar
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Ability to maintain SLAs through proactive issue detection and reporting tools, and follow support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries
