We are seeking an experienced and professional Occupational Therapist or Recreational Therapist to join our team at Montefiore, an award-winning Sydney-based aged care provider.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with our residents in a residential aged care setting, empowering them to engage in meaningful occupations through the development and coordination of therapeutic activity and engagement programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the progression and coordination of services towards a therapeutic model by integrating Occupational Therapy and Recreational Therapy models of practice.
  • Conduct assessments of residents' cognitive abilities using Allen's Cognitive Levels.
  • Prescribe non-pharmacological interventions for residents requiring behavioural support.
  • Actively contribute to behaviour support pathways for residents with special needs.
  • Create holistic leisure and lifestyle programs tailored to individual residents' needs and preferences.
  • Maintain accreditation status and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field, with eligibility for registration with AHPRA.
  • Eligibility for full membership of Diversional & Recreation Therapy Australia and adherence to professional standards.
  • Previous experience in aged care or mental health environments, particularly working with residents living with dementia.
Essential Criteria

In addition to the above qualifications and experience, we are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A proven ability to plan, implement, and evaluate therapy programs for group and individual residents.
  • The capacity to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • High-level organisational and time management skills.

What We Offer

You can expect a salary range of $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including NFP salary packaging and a comprehensive leave entitlement package.
