Job Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and experienced Food Technologist to join our team in Glenbervie. As a key member of our product development team, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and improving our range of sauces and UHT-processed products.

• Your Key Responsibilities will include progressing assigned process design projects, monitoring and reporting on factory trials, reviewing and optimizing current operations to reduce costs and improve safety and quality, and assessing the impact of new equipment, raw materials, methods of manufacture, packaging etc.
• You will also be responsible for supporting the commissioning of new equipment, setting up and communicating reprocessing materials and products as required, reviewing current operations to optimize, improve efficiency and deliver continuous improvement, and enhancing product quality through process modifications, line changes, process control amendments or new equipment introduction.
• Liaison with planning, purchasing, stock control, production, and QC for arranging factory trials will also be part of your role.
• In addition, you will carry out product design work as required and share learning with operations staff during scale-up from pilot to factory.

About You

We are looking for someone with a natural aptitude for problem-solving and a first-class ability for planning, organizing, and communicating. A science degree, preferably in Food Processing/Food Science/Food Technology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other relevant science subjects is essential.

A proven experience in sauce formulation and UHT processing is also necessary, as well as knowledge of raw materials/food systems/lab equipment/kitchen environment and knowledge and understanding of materials, statistical techniques, and testing procedures.

You should be commercially aware and an excellent communicator, able to work closely with customers, suppliers, and other departments within the company.
