Movement Transport Specialist

The Movement and Safety Team collaborates with stakeholders and communities across Barwon South-West Grampians Region to develop solutions for efficient and safe transportation.
- Responding to operational and safety matters across the transport network.
- Working closely with internal and external road safety and transport partners to investigate and identify opportunities to address short, medium and long-term needs for all transport modes.
- Using knowledge of the operation of the network and influencing teams and projects to address such issues through design reviews and business case development.
- Investigating circumstances surrounding fatal collisions and identifying mitigating measures where possible while applying Safe System thinking.
- Collaborating with transport partners (including Councils) to explore network problems and develop solutions.

- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to respond to client needs, follow through on requests, and resolve issues promptly.
- Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving to support effective outcomes.
- Capacity to influence and persuade through logical reasoning and evidence-based arguments.
- Partnership and collaboration skills, including the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders and team members.
