Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineer to join our team in Brisbane.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Instrument and Controls engineering within Upstream or Processing facilities.

You will be responsible for providing engineering support for development and select stay-in-business projects, ensuring fit-for-purpose designs that balance risk and reward to improve project NPV.

A key aspect of the role is maintaining compliance with Australian and international standards, while identifying opportunities for cost reduction and resource recovery.

About the Role
  • Deliver high-value projects: Enhance value and access a larger reserve base through Front-End Engineering (FEL) studies.
  • Ensure design excellence: Align project scope with the asset Operating Philosophy, preventing scope drift and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Safety and efficiency: Balance risk and reward for safe, operable facilities with low lifecycle cost.
  • Team collaboration: Act as technical authority for Instrument and Controls discipline, collaborating with Santos Principal Engineers and EDMS team on updates to standards.
About You
  • 10+ years' experience: In the oil and gas industry, with 5-7 years in Instrument and Controls engineering within Upstream or Processing facilities.
  • Technical expertise: Familiarity with relevant Australian and industry standards, Chartered Engineer and RPEQ certification.
